This page explains what information Kashmir Pages (kashmirpages.com) collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. In short: you can read and download everything without an account, we show no advertising, and we do not use tracking or analytics cookies.
Who we are
Kashmir Pages is run by the Kashmir Pages Team, LD Colony, Sanat Nagar, Srinagar 190005, India. For any privacy question or request, email info@kashmirpages.com.
Reading and downloading
You do not need an account to use the site. Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Hostinger) and our network provider (Cloudflare) automatically process technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in order to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare may set a short-lived, strictly necessary security cookie.
Security
The site is protected by the Wordfence security plugin. To block attacks and spam, Wordfence records the IP address, browser information and requested addresses of visitors, especially of suspicious traffic and login attempts, and may check IP addresses against its threat database, run by Defiant Inc. These records are used only for security and are deleted automatically after a limited period.
Our SEO plugin also keeps a log of requests for pages that do not exist (the address requested, the referring page and browser information), so that we can fix broken links.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and website you enter, your comment, and your IP address and browser information, to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. If you tick the box to save your details, a cookie remembers your name, email and website for your next comment; it lasts one year. Comments may be kept indefinitely so that conversations stay readable.
Embedded content
A few books in the Library are read through Google Drive. When you open one of these, the book is loaded from Google, and Google may collect data about you as it would if you visited Google Drive directly, under Google’s privacy policy. All other books, fonts and images are served from our own site.
If you write to us, we use your message and email address only to reply. Emails the site sends, such as replies to comments, are delivered through Google Workspace.
Your rights
You can ask us to send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you (for example, your comments), or to delete it, by emailing info@kashmirpages.com. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone for marketing.
Changes
If we change how the site handles personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
